About The Tribes World

Context first, always

The Tribes World publishes documented stories on Indigenous peoples and tribal cultures across five regions. We put community perspectives and careful historical context ahead of spectacle.

How we work

Research, language, and restraint

Each article begins with published scholarship, community-authored sources, and direct conversation where consent allows. We name cultures and communities using the terms those communities use, and we note where sources disagree.

We avoid romanticized clichés such as "untouched by time" or "vanishing tribes." Where history is still unfolding, we separate what is documented from what remains uncertain, and we credit every source we draw on.

Our editorial pledge

We report with consent, precision, and respect.

We never depict uncontacted peoples or private and sacred practices. We do not present identifiable individuals as representatives of a whole culture. We welcome submissions from regional scholars, writers, and cultural practitioners who share that commitment.
